ABOUT ME

Ezrah Chaaban is an attorney, parent and Chief of Staff to State Senator Bill Dodd (D-Napa).

A native of Sonoma County, Ezrah has lived in the Sonoma Valley for decades. He attended Sonoma Valley public schools (El Verano Elementary, Altimira Middle, and Sonoma Valley High), and is now raising a teenage daughter, Hailey, here today. As he thinks about her future and the educational challenges facing Sonoma Valley residents, Ezrah is committed to making a positive difference – and delivering results – to the residents of Santa Rosa, Sonoma, the Sonoma Valley, and Penngrove – all part of the Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) Board of Trustees – Area 1.

During his eight years serving as a Chief of Staff, Ezrah has played a key role in local and statewide policy issues. This includes helping pass state law permanently protecting the open space at Sonoma Developmental Center, expanding food aid to low-income college students, and helping secure funding to build new student housing. Ezrah enters the race with diverse experience in the state Capitol and here at home.

Beyond his work as the senior legislative advisor and Chief of Staff to Senator Dodd, Ezrah has also been actively involved in our community through his service on:

  • Sonoma State University Alumni Association Board

  • Sonoma County Transportation Authority Citizen’s Advisory Committee

  • Sonoma County Permit and Resource Management Department (PRMD) Director’s Advisory Group

  • Santa Rosa Plain Basin Advisory Panel

Ezrah received a Bachelor’s Degree from Sonoma State before going on to receive a law degree from UC Davis School of Law. He will apply his experience advancing meaningful education reform at the state level to improve the SRJC experience and course offerings for all its students.
